What we know as the “Aztec Empire” was one of the great empires that thrived in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico in 1519. From its humble beginning on a swampy drain basin of Mexico Valley, the empire was able to put up an 80,000 square miles territory with around 15, 000 million inhabitants becoming one of the most dominant Mesoamerican tribe at that time. Its full potential though was never realized largely due to the tribe’s strong belief on Gods and Goddesses. Aztecs was known for being polytheist; they have worshipped hundreds of God and Goddesses. They considered their existence as being guided and decided by these supernatural beings.
